LOCATION
Gitana del Mar Beach Resort is located on the shores of the Caribbean Sea in Colombia, South America.
The resort lies on the foothills of the impressive and magical Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, the world’s highest Coastal Mountain Range.
This area is referred to as the Heart of the world, not only because of its geographical location, but more importantly because every single ecosystem exists and thrives in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Michela Muratori
Founder and Organizer
Michela is a beauty seeker and a visual explorer with decades of experience as event creator and director in fashion, in three continents: Europe, Asia and North America. A profound openness to different cultures has always been her hallmark. Many moons ago, she started a spiritual path of growth and profound change to get rid of old narratives and find her true essence. Driven by a sense of connection to her spirit, immersing herself in different ceremonies, spiritual traditions, and healing practices, she has founded Sendero Dawa with his partner to offer a path of growth to everyone. Sendero Dawa holds a space for people to transform.
John Bueno
Founder and Organizer
John Bueno was born in Colombia, where rivers speak and mountains breathe stories into the wind. From his earliest days, he followed the voice of poetry in books, in songs, in silence. He studied Literature at the University of Antioquia, learning to read not only words, but the spaces that hold them. In 2010, the current carried him to Los Angeles, where he met Michela, his companion in art and life. Together, they explore the meeting place between art, movement, and spirit. Their newest vision, Soul Dance, rises from that shared journey: a movement of light and rhythm, a celebration of the invisible, where every heartbeat leaves a whisper in the air.
Alberto Possatti
Qi Gong Instructor
Alberto Possati, is an engineer who was born and raised in Bologna, Italy. At the age of 14, he practiced Chinese Kung Fu for several seasons and was deeply fascinated by the inner discipline that this martial art required. By chance, at 27, he attended a course held by a Chinese doctor and master of medical Qigong, and realized that this was the path he wanted to follow. However, it was only many years later that he managed to put his teacher’s teachings into practice, which gradually led him to become qualified to teach. Today, he is an active member of a national founding dedicated to spreading the teachings of medical Qigong in Italy, teaching several weekly courses throughout the year.

Jay Moton
Yoga teacher and sound healer
Jay began his yogic path 2007 teaching in and around Los Angeles. Whether it is showing up in yoga & meditation studios, corporate settings, yoga retreats or one-on-ones, Jay’s focus revolves around the Union of Self. The inner drive to uplift, heal and bring a deeper sense of awareness to those who are looking for a more authentically driven life and mindset is what inspires his work. By extensively immersing himself in the practice and study of Yogic Breathwork, Kundalini Yoga, Meditation, Energy Healing and Soundbaths he has witnessed his own life shift and transform in miraculous ways. Jay’s heartwarming and uplifting classes and workshops encourage students to rediscover their own inner power, mental strength and self-awareness, while releasing deep-seated blocks and unwanted stress. As a teacher, healer and guide his genuine approach supports others to establish a deeper sense of inner union through compassion and self-love.

We offer shared accommodation options with double or triple occupancy. You can book shared accommodation with a partner or friends. If you're seeking a roommate, we will do our best to find a suitable match. Single occupancy on request . Gitana del mar is an eco- friendly resort and offers private outdoor showers and fans in tropical aesthetic. Each room has bathroom amenities,towels and daily cleaning service.
BUNGALOW SIERRA
The Bungalow Sierra is our largest and most stunning room. The carefully curated design is inspired by the mystical Sierra Nevada mountains with her snow capped peaks, and the sacred geometry found in the triangular patterns in nature as well as our local indigenous cultures. Featuring breathtaking beach and ocean views and at over 80 square meters (800 sqft), this bungalow boasts an open floor plan with 1 King Bed (can also be set up with two single beds) and 2 separate single beds. Sleeps 2-4 people. This Cathedral Style structure is made with natural and native guadua (bamboo), hardwood and clay from the lower region of Sierra Nevada Mountains. The large and unique bathroom has 2 sinks and a shell inspired shower with hot water.

BUNGALOW SELVA
The Bungalow Selva is an all wood bungalow and is our most private and exclusive option. It has a one (1) queen bed and one (1) single bed as well as a private bathroom with open air shower and hot water. This is the closest option to the beach and the most private. The Bungalow Selva also has a private sitting garden in front of the bungalow.

NUKUBA
The Nukuba Bungalow is inspired by the serene and organic beauty of the seashell, specifically the shells sacred to the local Kogui indigenous population that inhabit the Sierra Nevada. This exquisite room features a tall, lofted roof, crafted from bamboo and thatch. Nukuba signifies shell in the Kogui language, and this structure embodies the same sense of security, tranquility, and contentment that a seashell offers to its cherished occupant.
Each Nukuba Bungalow boasts a private wooden deck front porch and are set apart and more private than the Bungalow Suites and Standards.
They have one (1) King bed (or 2 single beds) and two (2) additional single beds. The max capacity is 4 guests. Each Nukuba has a private, open-air bathroom.

This two- story Bungalow is tucked away in the jungle gardens of Gitana under our beloved Mango Trees and has gorgeous views all around. Designed with all wood and selected Bamboo details, this gorgeous space has a opened living room, balcony with views of our beachfront forest and the most incredible private bathroom with outdoor shower. Ideal for a couple the room has a King bed that can also turn into two twin beds during Yoga Retreats.

La Cocina Gitana
Our kitchen works with the local fishermen of the area to bring whatever is fresh straight to your plate. This sea to table approach combines healthy ingredients together in a coastal themed, fusion-style menu with Colombian, Latin and Asian flavors. Our ever-evolving selection is a unique combination of the traditional dishes and flavors from Colombia along with other recipes from around the world. Tropical juices are one of the most spectacular culinary traditions in Colombia, which is why we honor and serve them here daily.
Our plethora of seasonal fruits includes: Passion Fruit, Star fruit, Guava, Lulo, Mango, Pineapple, etc.
Fresh fruit and herb infused cocktails are also available per request. The menu changes daily and three gourmet meals are included daily in the per person rate. This includes fresh fruit juices, bottled water, coffee and tea. Our kitchen can accommodate any vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free requests as long as you let us know in advance prior to your visit
